Our storytelling informs and inspires the reader to get involved with our ministry as we provide technology-based tools to our partners around the world, and is key to creating the support base needed to keep our organization running smoothly. Skills – Needs an excellent understanding of the fundamentals of storytelling, a keen sense of what makes a story interesting to an audience, and stellar interviewing, writing, and editing skills. Storyboarding experience is also preferred. Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite tools. Video, audio, and image editing experience is also preferred.
Experience – Prefer a minimum of two years of experience in writing and editing for a ministry organization.
Responsibilities – Research and tell inspiring stories of our work and that of our ministry partners in a variety of mediums including print, electronic, audio, and video. Contribute to the entire process of story development, including interviewing, writing, fact-checking, and editing. Maintain a bank of stories for future publication as well as track developing stories. Lead a team of volunteer writers and repurpose stories for use on multiple platforms. Contribute to the story content for PR/Communications and Funding Development publications as well as the production of stories told through other mediums such as audio and video productions. Work in conjunction with the Communications Team and report to the PR/Communications manager.
