Dan and Barbara Anderson have served at SonSet Solutions (formerly HCJB Global Technology Center) in Elkhart, Indiana since 1986.
Dan is an electrical engineer who started his missionary career with Reach Beyond (formerly HCJB Global) in Quito, Ecuador in 1977. Barb served with ABWE in Sao Paulo, Brazil before she moved to Quito, Ecuador to serve with the Christian and Missionary Alliance as the library media specialist for the Alliance Academy, a school for missionary children. Dan and Barb met in Quito where Dan worked for six years building a radio automation system for missionary Radio Station HCJB. The Andersons moved to the U.S. in 1984 and served for a year and a half at the mission headquarters in Miami, Florida.
One of the first missionaries to arrive at the HCJB Global Technology Center in 1986, Dan designed and built the computer control system for the HC100 shortwave radio transmitters. He now maintains and periodically upgrades the office computer network servers and infrastructure for SonSet Solutions, although he considers himself more of an engineer than an IT guy. Dan’s greatest satisfaction comes from working on projects for partners to aid them in using technology to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. Dan and Barb have three grown children and seven grandchildren.
