“I was born here, schooled here, live here, and do ministry here in Mutulani.” Pastor Enock recently shared about his hometown in Kenya. “We used to walk with a donkey cart to a seasonal river down the valley that would take an hour, and more hours back because of the steepness and weight.”
Water Mission installed a safe water system in Mutulani, a population of 3,300 people. Five distribution points service three central community areas, along with a school and a clinic.
Our SonSetLink® is included in every water project Water Mission installs. These remote monitors track how much water is being produced and distributed to the community, allowing teams to identify trends and respond quickly – often before the community knows there is an issue. In Mutulani, SonSetLink identified the need for a new pump at one of the distribution sites.
But Water Mission isn’t only focused on clean water. They recognize the global spiritual thirst that exists and have witnessed how safe water opens the door for sharing the gospel. They are intent on strengthening and equipping the local church. Hand in hand, Water Mission and the local church in these communities share with men, women and children what it means to have a relationship with Jesus Christ.
The difference safe water has made for Mutulani is remarkable. Pastor Enock shared, “Previously, there was not time to interact with family members, church members, and fellow pastors. But since then, I can testify that through safe water and Living Water [trainings], church members can attend prayer meetings, mid-week fellowships, and church services.”
SonSetLink is enabling gospel-focused water ministries to monitor their systems globally and, in turn, build stronger relationships with communities – ultimately opening doors to more effective outreach.
