Faith Despite the Danger

It is illegal to evangelize in some countries. Despite the danger, ministries are asking for help in establishing radio stations for the sake of the gospel.

In one such community, the radio station we helped establish is going strong after 13½ years on the air. Our solar-powered SonSet® radios are a lifeline where listeners in these remote areas can hear the broadcasts in the privacy of their own homes.

We recently sent another shipment of radios. Despite many now having cell phones which can receive an FM signal, people are still requesting radios. Not everyone has a cell phone and those who do struggle with limited battery power.

Many from other religions are listening in. A member of the radio station staff shared about two families they were able to meet who put their faith in the Lord Jesus. One of them said, “After we often heard the Word of God through [the station], then after we compared it with our previous beliefs, we acknowledged that only through the Lord Jesus there is salvation.”

Believers in Jesus are also growing in the faith. A woman we will call Mama R. was a Christian but married a man from a different religion. “At that time, I left the Lord Jesus Christ to follow my husband’s beliefs … I was very sad, and guilt still haunted me.”

She received a radio from our partner’s station. “Every time I hear the Word of God and hymns through the [station] broadcast, my heart really longs for the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.” She is grateful that her husband does not mind her listening to the broadcasts. She is praying that he will come to faith.

Mama R. says, “Many thanks to the servants of God, especially the servants of God from SonSet who have been used so extraordinarily by God in the ministry … so that we can hear the word of God every day.”
