John and Jean both served in the inner city of Chicago while attending Wheaton College. While John studied business, he eventually became a computer programmer. Jean studied biology/nursing. After several short-term mission trips, John gave thought to how God could his gifts and knowledge of computers for “kingdom work”, seeking eternal results. God opened doors in 2010, and John and Jean relocated to Elkhart, Indiana to serve at SonSet Solutions. John is software developer in the IT department and also serves as the chaplain. Jean volunteers and serves in IT as well as in Donations and Communications.
They have four adult children. Elizabeth is married to Peter and a stay-at-home mom, and has three children. JR is a zookeeper at the Lee Richardson Zoo in Garden City, Kansas. David is married to Dominique and is a software developer at MarkNet Alliance in Illinois. Anina is married to Tyler and is a registered nurse at Elkhart General.
