“The messages I’ve heard from this station captured my heart and made me realize there is only one way to heaven — through Christ Jesus.”
This is the powerful testimony shared by three men in Kabala, Sierra Leone, who recently went to Shalom Radio, the local Christian station, requesting prayer and desiring to surrender their lives to Jesus.
What did God use to touch their hearts?
Long before these men walked into the radio station, Shalom Radio has been broadcasting radio programs that are “designed to comfort the brokenhearted, bring peace to those in distress, and fill their lives with joy through the Good News of Jesus Christ,” according to Mamoud Marah, the director of the station. They’ve recently introduced more programs that offer salvation messages and have increased their broadcast time to nearly 24 hours per day.
What caused this sudden advancement?
Because of unreliable power and the high cost of generator fuel, Shalom Radio struggled with limited broadcast hours. To address this, SonSet Solutions traveled to Sierra Leone to oversee the installation of a solar power system, designed by our engineers, which would eliminate blackouts during radio programs and end the need to purchase diesel fuel at $10 per gallon.
What made this expensive solar project possible?
Before the team from SonSet Solutions ever touched down on African soil, a team of generous donors stepped up to underwrite the sizeable cost of such a project. Out of faithfulness to the calling God laid on their heart, they joined the team that would endeavor to advance the gospel to those without hope.
Praise God that he assembles prayer warriors, donors, engineers, preachers, and broadcasters to reach the lost and for Mohamed Sesay, Zanunu Savage, and Madieu Kamara, who have found the way to heaven, where we will all stand together before the throne!
